The launch of an app by the Income Tax Department is welcoming news for taxpayers, as they can now access their Annual Information Statements (AIS) and obtain comprehensive information on every transaction with ease.

An enhanced version of Form 26AS has been released by the Income Tax Department that not only presents TDS/TCS data but also highlights additional particulars like advance tax and self-assessment tax. With the AIS application’s recent update, taxpayers can now effortlessly access their refund information in one centralized location.

At no cost, the AIS app is a mobile solution that offers taxpayers a comprehensive outlook on the Annual Information System, which includes an array of data regarding taxpayers, making it a useful tool for individuals seeking an overall view of their financial transactions.

How to get an AIS application?

  1. Simply, go to Google Play Store or Apple App store.
  2. Search for the AIS app for taxpayers
  3. Click on the install button and the AIS app is ready.

To fully utilize the advantages of the AIS application, taxpayers are required to verify their registered email ID and mobile number. Upon successful entry of the OTP, the user can create a 4-digit PIN, which will enable them to access comprehensive information about their taxes and TDS with just one click.

The Annual Information System (AIS) can be accessed via both a web portal and the AIS app, and the data will remain consistent across both platforms, providing taxpayers with a seamless and uniform experience while accessing their financial information.

What is Annual Information System (AIS)?

By providing a comprehensive outlook on all information displayed on Form 26AS, the Annual Information System (AIS) offers taxpayers the option to provide feedback on the data presented. Within each section, Such as TDS, SFT, and other pertinent details, AIS exhibits both the reported and modified values (i.e., the value after feedback)

The objectives of AIS are:
